Pacific Blue Engineering successfully provided another turn-key safety upgrade and legacy controls migration solution on an existing wrapper. Pacific Blue designed, installed, commissioned and validated the turn-key upgrade. A Rockwell Automation SLC, Panelview Standard, and Powerflex 4 VFDs were migrated to a CompactGuard PLC, utilizing Powerflex 525 with safe torque off, and a PanelView Plus 7. We then integrated a complete safety solution utilizing infeed / outfeed muting light curtains, locking door switches, mechanical hard guarding, request to enter stations, and override functionality.
