Upgrading four barcode readers to Cognex Dataman 260 Readers, and installing VisionView on the machine HMI to allow operators to validate and check the barcode scanners. The previous system used one vision controller for all four barcode readers, and would only show one alarm message on the HMI for an alarm condition, the operator would then need to check the vision controller display for detail.

There are now unique alarm message conditions available on the main HMI for each of the four barcode readers. These alarm messages and the VisionView system allow the operator to have a full overview of the system from the main HMI, and better understand, identify, and troubleshoot issues.
